Occurs only in rocky substrates. Inhabits moderately steep ( restricted to slightly offshore areas beyond 2 m depth) and steep rocky shores (inhabiting immediately inshore waters where it lives in deep and wide gaps between big boulders) with medium sized to very big boulders. Feeds on algae and detritus.
