পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ) : 9; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ) : 20 - 22; পায়ূ কাঁটা : 3; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 16 - 18. Greenish blue above, silvery grey below; blackish blotch on upper opercular margin; caudal fin yellowish (Ref. 3197). Adult males with 3-8 central dorsal and anal filamentous rays; LL with 17-29 scutes.

Adults inhabit coastal waters of the continental shelf (Ref. 5213, 7300).
