Épines dorsales (Total) : 6; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total) : 8; Rayons mous anaux: 6; Vertèbres: 18 - 19. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: D VI,8; pelvic-fin rays mostly 7, pectoral-fin rays 21–23. Colouration: body brown, peritoneum with gray pigmentation, and circular or irregular light pattern on the dark floor of the mouth (Ref. 131498).
Found on sandy mud bottom (Ref. 11230). Oviparous (Ref. 205), multiple spawner (Ref. 32832). Depth range in the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea is between 30-500 m (Ref. 11230)
