Facultative air-breathing in the genus; It is found in rivers stretching 20 meters with depth of 1 to 2 meters. It has low currents, with sandy and clay substrates. River margins have arboreal-shrub vegetation, like of a Cerrado biome. The largest specimen observed is 13.88 cm, standard length (Ref. 128916).
