Description synthétique Clés d'identification | Morphologie | Morphométrie

Distinguished from all other species of Hisonotus, except Hisonotus notatus and Hisonotus leucofrenatus, by having anterior margin of the snout completely covered by odontodes vs. with a narrow or wide odontode-free; large plates in the abdominal median series, usually comprising one series of plates between the lateral abdominal plates vs. abdominal median series of plates small, with several plate series irregularly arranged between the lateral abdominal ones. Can be differentiated from Hisonotus notatus and Hisonotus leucofrenatus in the presence on the caudal fin of a series of light hyaline spots, forming a vertical light bar, vs. a rounded hyaline blotch or no hyaline area in the midventral portion of caudal fin (Ref. 78747).

Biologie     Glossaire (ex. epibenthic)

Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Occurs in slow to moderate flowing watercourses, with clear to brown water over sandy bottom and in marginal or submerged aquatic vegetation. Sympatric with Hisonotus laevior throughout its distribution (Ref. 78747).

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00661 (0.00336 - 0.01300), b=3.09 (2.92 - 3.26), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this species & (Sub)family-body (Ref. 93245).
Résilience (Ref. 120179):  Haut, temps minimum de doublement de population inférieur à 15 mois (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
