The transliterated Latin terminal part of the compound name ('tocus') was changed to 'toca', thus the genus is feminine (Ref. 35111); zacapuensis: Named for its known distribution, the basin Lagoon de Zacapu (Ref. 42981).

Espinas dorsales (total) : 0; Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 18 - 20; Espinas anales: 0; Radios blandos anales: 12 - 13; Vértebra: 30 - 32. Abdomopodium rays 2-7 thickened basally and curved anteriorly; series of 10-14 dark brown pigmented v-shaped vertical bars along sides; adult males with dark brown area surrounding about and in front of genital region; dark brown abdominal pigmentation (Ref. 42981).

Found in turbid water, over mud bottoms (Ref. 42981). Hides under vegetation (Ref. 42981).
