Espinhos dorsais (total) : 3; Raios dorsais (total) : 7; Espinhos anais: 2 - 3; Raios anais : 5. High and compressed body, with four Gambetta's pigmentary zones. Jet black caudal spot rounded and rather small. Mental lobes well prominent but not large (Ref. 41095).
Oviparous, possibly with distinct pairing during breeding similar to congeners (Ref. 205).
