Description synthétique Clés d'identification | Morphologie | Morphométrie

Rayons mous dorsaux (Total) : 9 - 10; Rayons mous anaux: 12 - 13; Vertèbres: 33 - 35. Without lateral line, without infraorbital process, with mostly 7 branched dorsal-fin rays and 9-10 branched anal-fin rays. Danio apopyris can be distinguished from all other Danio species by the combination of having 4-6 dark vertical bars anteriorly on the sides of the body, a horizontal dark P stripe extending to the end of the median caudal-fin rays, and no barbels. It differs in color pattern from the other barred Danio by having the horizontal P stripe extending onto the end of the caudal-fin rays instead of being confined to the caudal peduncle, and in the possession of a P + 1 stripe. Danio apopyris and Danio apogon are the only two barred Danio species without barbels and without lateral line.

Biologie     Glossaire (ex. epibenthic)

Found in a small stream near a village in the bottom of the valley, with slow current and shallow water (maximum of 20 cm deep). The surrounding area was mostly paddy fields with almost no shade. The bottom varies from small gravel to mud.

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00891 (0.00371 - 0.02139), b=3.05 (2.85 - 3.25), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Niveau trophique (Ref. 69278):  3.0   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Résilience (Ref. 120179):  Haut, temps minimum de doublement de population inférieur à 15 mois (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
