الأشواك الظهرية (المجموع) : 8; الأشعة الظهرية الناعمة (المجموع) : 9; شوكة شرجية: 2; أشعه شرجية لينه: 8. Reddish brown with 3 to 4 rows of black spots on the sides and unmarked fins (Ref. 37816). Eye yellow; white-rimmed black ocellus on operculum (Ref. 48635).

Found in coastal mud flats and reefs to 10 m depth (Ref. 48635). Nocturnal species (Ref. 7300). Very cryptic and rarely seen, even at night (Ref. 48635).
