Vértebras: 33 - 34. Body without dark stripes. Cavity with deep post-oral skinfold around mouth. A submarginal band on posterior part of paired fins. Origin of pectoral fin behind corner of the mouth. Origin of pelvic in front of dorsal-fin origin; pelvic fin reaching anal-fin origin; dorsal keels on pelvic-fin rays continuously or marginally serrated. Absence of skin-fold between oropectoral membrane and ventral surface of head. Lateral line with 40-47 scales (Ref. 40433).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Collected from streams with shallow rapids; current relatively slow and water very clear; deep pools with detritus and muddy or sandy substrate. Stomach contents indicate that this species feeds on aquatic invertebrates (Ref. 40433).
