Disc about as long as broad. End of snout with a short prolongation. Tail brownish dorsally, pale ventrally with a series of small blackish spots laterally; slender; width at the axis of pelvic fins 0.6-0.7 times as great as eye diameter; length from the middle of cloaca to its tip 0.8-1.2 times the distance from the middle of cloaca to the base of terminal prolongation of the snout. Closely resembles S. melanosoma differing in having the maximum width of disc at posterior 2/5, maximum anterior angle in front spiracles about 84-91° (Ref. 41248).
