Environment: milieu / climate zone / depth range / distribution range
Écologie
; eau douce démersal; pH range: 6.1 - 6.2. Tropical; 25°C - 26°C (Ref. 90183)
South America: Oyapock River basin, French Guiana.
Taille / Poids / Âge
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 10.4 cm SL mâle / non sexé; (Ref. 36713)
Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); The smallest among the Guianese Lasiancistrus since it hardly reaches 10 cm TL. Prefers the rapid zones where the depth is shallow, the substrate is rocky and the illumination is moderate. Found in association with Lasiancistrus brevispinis, Cteniloricaria fowleri, Ancistrus aff. temminckii and Genicichla ternetzi. Its small size, odd shape and bright coloration make this species especially interesting for aquarists (Ref. 35381).
