Etymology: Rineloricaria: Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather; 1706 (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: William C Morrow was Curator of Fishes at Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences and led their expedition to the Ucayali River basin, Peru (1937) during which the holotypes of these species were collected. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
