Occurs in intertidal algal beds, as well as wharves and pilings. Usually at depths less than 7.5 m. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males probably brooding at about 24-25 cm TL.
