Biologie     Verklarende woordenlijst (bv. epibenthic)

Predominantly found in open offshore waters, sometimes found close to the shore in sandy areas (Ref. 4983). As suggested by its long and coiled intestines, H. nigripinnis is a vegetarian. It feeds mainly on suspended phytoplankton. Like most Haplochromis species, it is an opportunistic feeder (Ref. 558).

Estimates based on models

Fylogenetische diversiteitsindex (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01445 (0.00693 - 0.03016), b=2.97 (2.80 - 3.14), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this species & (Sub)family-body (Ref. 93245).
Trofisch niveau (Ref. 69278):  2.0   ±0.00 se; based on food items.
Weerstandsvermogen (Ref. 120179):  Hoog, minimale populatieverdubbelingstijd minder dan 15 maanden (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
