خارهاي باله پشتي (کل) : 0; شعاع نرم باله پشتي (کل) : 27 - 34; خارهاي باله مخرجي: 0; شعاع نرم باله مخرجي: 23 - 29. Dorsal fin origin on same level as anal fin.

Affinities: M. meronai. Relatively close to M. furcidens which is found in the same geographic setting in Côte d'Ivoire. A fractional spawner (Ref. 10605; 10606).
