Short description
Claves de identificación | Morfología | Morfometría
Espinas dorsales (total) : 2; Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 7; Radios blandos anales: 10; Vértebra: 43. Distinguished from all other Mystus (indeed, from all other Asian Bagridae except Bagrichthys hypselopterus) by its extraordinary high dorsal fin, involving great elongation of the non-serrate dorsal fin spine and first three or four soft rays. Within Mystus sensu stricto, mouth relatively narrow (Ref. 10418).
Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Occur in medium to large-sized rivers (Ref. 12975). Adults feed on crustaceans and benthic invertebrates. Oviparous, distinct pairing possibly like other members of the same family (Ref. 205). Usually marketed fresh (Ref. 12693).
