Taggstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt) : 1; Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt) : 6 - 7; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 13 - 17. Posterior nostril barbels reaching rear edge of eyes, maxillary one nearly reaching pectoral fin, posterior barbels on chin reaching branchial membrane and anterior one short; gill opening large and branchial membrane free; skin naked. Last simple ray of pectoral fin hard and strongly serrated on hind margin; ventral fin nearly reaching anal fin and end of caudal fin lightly concave or truncate.
Live in the rivers and lakes of the plateau on the northern foot of the Nanling Mountains. Carnivorous (Ref. 45563).
