背棘 (總數) : 1; 背的軟條 (總數) : 6 - 7; 臀鰭軟條: 13 - 17. Posterior nostril barbels reaching rear edge of eyes, maxillary one nearly reaching pectoral fin, posterior barbels on chin reaching branchial membrane and anterior one short; gill opening large and branchial membrane free; skin naked. Last simple ray of pectoral fin hard and strongly serrated on hind margin; ventral fin nearly reaching anal fin and end of caudal fin lightly concave or truncate.
後鼻孔觸鬚達到眼睛後緣, 上頜骨一幾乎延伸到胸鰭,在後部觸鬚在達到鰓蓋膜與前面的一個短的下巴上; 鰓裂大的與鰓蓋膜分離; 皮膚裸露的。 胸鰭的最後單一鰭條堅硬的而且在後緣上深鋸齒狀的; 腹鰭幾乎延伸到臀鰭與尾鰭末端微凹的或截形。
