Écologie
; eau douce benthopélagique; pH range: 8.0 - 9.0; dH range: 9 - 19; profondeur 20 - 40 m (Ref. 94007). Tropical; 24°C - 28°C (Ref. 2059); 3°S - 9°S

Taille / Poids / Âge
Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 8.0 cm TL mâle / non sexé; (Ref. 5667)
Occurs at depths greater than 20 metres, but some specimens found in water as shallow as 10 metres; cave brooder and cave dweller, rarely venturing more than 30 cm from its cave; frequently several individuals can be seen together (Ref. 46829). Mainly feeds on insect larvae (chironomids), but some other invertebrates are eaten as well (Ref. 94007). Forms pairs but strict bonds are not observed in captivity; when spawning in captivity, this species defends a small territory by aggressively chasing away intruders (Ref. 7343).
