الأشواك الظهرية (المجموع) : 0; الأشعة الظهرية الناعمة (المجموع) : 161; شوكة شرجية: 0; أشعه شرجية لينه: 107. Dorsal filament 3 times longer than eye diameter; pectoral fins rather short, not reaching to anus when appressed. Lateral line extending to below middle of second dorsal fin. Color is gray-reddish; body with small black dots; abdomen black (Ref. 1371).

Dwells on the continental and insular shelves and slopes. Feeds on zooplankton.
