Short description

Ryggkotor: 114 - 120. This species is distinguished by the following characters: small size, less than about 30.0 cm TL; with dorsal-fin origin before gill opening; maxillary teeth are biserial; branchial pores 2; total vertebrae is 114-120. Colouration: body plain brown, with dark grooves on throat and posterior part of head; tail at tip is dark yellow, becoming uniform brown in large adults (Ref. 132087).
Occurs in coastal coral habitats, deep in crevices and is very rarely seen at night (Ref. 132087).
