Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt) : 7; Ryggkotor: 50 - 51. This species is distinguished by the following characters: anterior edge of the pectoral-fin spine smooth; posterior margin of the dorsal-fin spine slightly serrated; short maxillary barbels not extending to the base of the pectoral-fin spine; caudal fin emarginate, truncate or rounded; a narrow interspace between the supraoccipital process and nuchal plate, less than half of the supraoccipital process; along distal edge of the caudal fin, a broad white mark; caudal peduncle stout, its length/depth 1.3-2.3, mean 1.9); pelvic fins inserted nearly equidistant between the snout tip and the caudal-fin base or slightly positioned backwards with the pre-pelvic length 48.8-56.9, mean 51.8 % of SL; anterior portion of the basipterygium is bifurcated with the notch less than half the length of the anterior portion, and the two forward processes (anterolateral and antermedial) are equal in length, while the posterior portion presents a weakly developed anteromedial process (Ref. 132061).
