Colouration pinkish with a darker brownish hue around the dorsal side and brighter dots around the the dorsal-fin bases (Ref. 131551).

Species usually observed resting on the bottom, associated with live or dead coral framework or framework portions (inside, below, or next to); in the absence of framework, next to larger protective structures like hard ground ledges. When threatened (e.g., by the approaching ROV), they attempted to hide in or below protective structures. Observed swimming was fast paced in minimal altitude over ground and along the protective structures (Ref. 131551).
