背鰭 (合計) : 9 - 10; 臀鰭: 17. The males of this species are distinguished from its congeners by having an elliptical caudal fin with brown oblique stripes, and a broad yellow stripe on the ventral portion that lacks a black marginal stripe; further differs with flank light blue with oblique red dots, with dots on pectoral fin, no black humeral blotch and distal black stripe on anal fin (Ref. 130458).
