This species is distinguished by the following characters: a median notch on posterior edge of the oral sucking disc similar to G. micropulvinus, but differs to this species by the number of fleshy buds on each side of the central fleshy pad of the oral sucking dischaving 2-4 (vs. 4-8), a fan-shaped central fleshy pad (vs. round), distinct (vs. indistinct or absent) papillae densely set (vs. sparsely) over the central pad, circumpeduncular scale rows 14 (vs. 12) (Ref. 128964).
