Vertèbres: 25. This small species is distinguished by the following characters: a moderately large head, its length 3.1 in SL; lower edge of preopercle has 3 spines; no labial fimbriae; both anterior and posterior nostrils have long tubiform valves; supracleithrum with a sharp spine at rear end and one additional small spine inside; dorso-posterior margin of pectoral fin is concave; adult with 59 oblique scale-rows along the sides of the body. Colouration: upper pectoral-fin membranes pale and lower membranes brown (Ref. 128009).
Occurs on soft bottoms of lower continental shelf, relatively deep (300-308 m) (Ref. 128009).
