Indo-Pacific with a disjunct east-west distribution, also antitropical except in the Marquesas. Southwestern Indian Ocean population currently known only from Agalega Islands, Mauritius and Reunion. Central Pacific population present from Ogasawara, Johnston, Hawaii, Marquesas, Australs, Tonga and Vanuatu.
