Etymology: Antilligobius: Name from Dutch 'Antillen' referring to the region now known as Antilles or Caribbean Sea, and Latin 'gobius' meaning small fish or gudgeon; nikkiae: Named Nicole Laura Schrier, the daughter of Adriaan 'Dutch' Schrier, owner of the Sea Aquarium in Curaçao.
Eponymy: Nicole Laura Schrier is the daughter of Adriaan ‘Dutch’ Schrier, owner and Director of the Curaçao Sea Aquarium (opened 1984), and supporter of SECORE (coral reef conservation) who collected many of the type specimens. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
