背的軟條 (總數) : 6; 臀鰭軟條: 9 - 11; 脊椎骨: 29 - 30. This species differs from all other members of the Anablepsoides ornatus group by having the caudal fin in males with similar coloration on its dorsal and ventral portions
(vs. always distinct coloration) and the presence of a longitudinal row of dark red dots on the ventral portion of the flank in males (vs. absence of longitudinal row of dark red dots) (Ref. 94717).
