背的軟條 (總數) : 8; 臀鰭軟條: 6; 脊椎骨: 30 - 31. Distinguished by the following combinations of characters: absence of transverse groove and proboscis on the snout; tip of dorsal fin falcate; presence of long axillary scale at the base of pelvic fin, reaching the base of last pelvic fin ray; 27-29 scales on lateral line, 10-11 regularly arranged predorsal scales; W-shaped black band across the middle of caudal fin and presence of scales on the breast and belly (Ref. 93557).
Inhabits clear, shallow, moderately fast-flowing streams with a predominantly rocky bottom. Occurs in association with Devario aequipinnatus, Garra cf. annandalei and Schistura spp.. A female measuring 4.2 cm SL has ripe eggs (Ref. 93557).
