Short description Claves de identificación | Morfología | Morfometría

Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 9; Radios blandos anales: 9; Vértebra: 48. Distinguished from all congeners except Pangio bitaimac, P. cuneovirgata, P. doriae, P. filinaris, P. fusca, P. lidi and P. longimanus by having a long, pointed narial flap (nasal barbel). Can be separated from these seven species and in addition from all other congeners by its unique color pattern consisting of a midlateral stripe and a reticulated pattern of chromatophores loosely organized in a middorsal and paired dorsolateral bands on a light beige background (Ref. 91039).

Biología     Glosario (por ej. epibenthic)

Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Found in shallow part of a medium-sized clear water stream, up to 200 m wide and up to at least 2 m deep with sand, gravel and stones as substrate. Its type series was collected from a shallow part of the river with a fast current over medium-sized rounded stones and sandy patches as substrate. Caught only from sandy areas (Ref. 93057).
