Vértebra: 183. This species is distinguished by the following characters: depth 43 times and tail 1.8 in TL; minute pectoral fin, its length about twice in eye; total vertebra 183, mean vertebral formula 3/77.5/183; body overlain with 50-55 brown rings and saddles, separated by white interspaces
which are narrower than the darker rings (Ref. 89079).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated; Cross section: circular.
Found in mixed rubble and sand and small coral formations. Encoundtered in the open, swimming slowly, apparently in search for prey, probably small fishes or crustaceans (Ref. 89079, 90102).
