背鰭 (合計) : 11; 臀鰭: 11; 脊つい: 38 - 40. Based on materials from Moraca-Zeta river system which flows into the Lake Skadar, Leucos albus can be distinguished from its closest relative L. basak by having higher number of pored scales on lateral line 41-44 (vs. 37-39 in L. basak) and 9 modal number of dorsal branched rays (vs. 8 in L. albus). Flanks are silvery, without lateral bands as observed in L. aula (Ref. 96829).
Prefers to inhabit sub-lacustrine springs of Lake Skadar, where large numbers of fish gather during the winter period. Coexists with Leuocos basak in Lake Skadar, with 20:1 proportion in favor of Leuocos basak (Ref. 96829).
