This species has the following distinct characters: gill opening extends forward to a vertical about halfway between posterior edge of preopercle and hind margin of orbit; caudal fin is longer than head length, 2.65-2.8 in SL; second dorsal spine in male 2.95 in SL, in female and 2.65 in SL; longitudinal scale series 50-51; 3 longitudinal rows of dark spots on body (Ref. 50606).
Collected from silty sand and rubble substrate (Ref. 50606).
