Asia: China. Known only from the Wuyanling National Natural Conservation Area, Tai-Shun County, upper tributary of Feiyunjiang Basin, Zhejiang. This species may be endemic to the upper reaches of this river basin.

背棘 (總數) : 6 - 7; 背的軟條 (總數) : 8 - 9; 臀棘: 1; 臀鰭軟條: 8. Body rather cylindrical anteriorly, compressed posteriorly. Head moderately large; somewhat depressed in male. Eye large, dorsolateral. Snout pointed. Cheek somewhat fleshy in male (flat in female). Mouth rather oblique and small, rear edge extending slightly beyond vertical line through anterior margin of orbit in male, but not extending to vertical of anterior edge of orbit in female. Both jaws with 3–4 rows of conical teeth, and outer rows enlarged. Tongue margin rounded. Anterior nostril in short tube and posterior nostril rounded with very shallow rim. Gill opening extending near, but not to vertical of rear margin of preopercle. Isthmus broad. D1 rays V-VI (modally VI); D2 rays I, 8-9 (Ref. 79586).
