背的軟條 (總數) : 9 - 10; 臀鰭軟條: 13 - 14; 脊椎骨: 30. Distinguished from all congeners by the following unique color patterns: a broad subbasal red stripe on the dorsal fin in males; ventral portion of the head with a black reticulate pattern in females; caudal fin orange on the dorsal and ventral portions, yellow on the middle in females (Ref. 75134).
