This species is characterized by following: Vertebrae 11-13 + 28-29 = 39-42, dorsal fin rays 66-72, anal fin rays 46-54; outer pseudoclasper wingshaped with single broad and curved supporter anteriorly; inner pseudoclasper club-shaped, tip much expanded, without appendix; small fleshy lobe at base of hood adjacent to outer pseudoclasper, penis tapering; opercular spine with single, sharp tip; scale patch on cheeks with 5-9 vertical scale rows; often with green pigment globules in body mucus, particularly near anal opening (Ref. 57883).
