Biologia     Glossario (es. epibenthic)

Inhabits ponds and small streams near the sea; water typically dark (tea-like) with sand or mud bottom (pH=4.5-5.8, upper limit of water temperature 27.5°-32.5°C). Occurs in slow-flowing, tannin-stained creeks and coastal dune lakes in sandy country (locally known as 'wallum'). Found along grassy banks, often among reeds or water lilies (Ref. 44894). Closely related to Pseudomugil signifer.

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01122 (0.00514 - 0.02450), b=3.04 (2.87 - 3.21), in cm total length, based on all LWR estimates for this body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.2   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilienza (Ref. 120179):  Alto, tempo minimo di raddoppiamento della popolazione meno di 15 mesi (tm=0.83-1; Fec=42-145; assuming multiple spawning per year).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
