Dionda argentosa is genetically distinct but morphologically indistinguishable from Guadalupe roundnose minnow, D. nigrotaeniata (Ref. 86798).
Inhabits rocky pools, sometimes runs, of headwaters, creeks, and small rivers. Found among filamentous algae (Ref. 86798).
