Spine dorsali (totale) : 14 - 15; Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 5 - 7; Raggi anali molli: 5 - 8; Vertebre: 24 - 26. Body color usually uniform or with weak reticulate pattern formed by dark scale margins, very rarely any vertical bars. No caudal, cleithral or opercular blotches. Lateral line scales usually 23, rarely 22 or 24; transverse scale row 8.5; vertebrae usually 25. Palatine teeth absent. Anguloarticular lateralis canal present. Males with black blotch anteriorly in dorsal fin (Ref. 46238).
