Distinguished from other Plesiojenynsia by the following combination of characters: a single midlateral stripe without associated dorsolateral or ventrolateral stripes or blotches in adults; a terminal to slightly oblique mouth; fewer than 13 gillrakers; and absence of the first mandibular-canal pore.
Commonly found in upland rivers. Viviparous (Ref. 45800).
