Taggstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt) : 6 - 8; Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt) : 18 - 19; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 12 - 14; Ryggkotor: 33 - 34. Two pairs of branched cirri on dorsal surface of head. Bases of head cirri smooth. A single filamentous cirrus on dorsal tip of each spine of first dorsal fin. Sixth canaliculus of infraorbital sensory canal with a single pore. A long posterior medial canaliculus of the occipital canal with a terminal and a few supplementary pores. Melanophores scattered on isthmus hidden beneath branchiostegal membrane. Body width 1.2-1.5 in body depth. Caudal fin rounded.
Occurs in tide pools (Ref. 44254).
