Épines dorsales (Total) : 2 - 3; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total) : 7; Épines anales: 3; Rayons mous anaux: 5. Minute and rounded lateral spots (the fourth Gambetta's pigmentary zone). Head moderately long, small eyes placed in its anterior half. Mental lobes well developed. Sexual dimorphism based on well developed lamina circularis at the base of second pectoral ray in males (Ref. 41095).
Oviparous, possibly with distinct pairing during breeding similar to congeners (Ref. 205).
