The possession of a dark, vertically elongate humeral bar in mid-sized and larger specimens or the presence of a diffuse patch of chromatophores in that region in the smaller individuals examined distinguishes Attonitus irisae from Attonitus bounites and Attonitus ephimeros. Dorsal fin with 2 unbranched and 8 branched ray. Anal fin with 3 unbranched and 14-17, most commonly 15-16, branched rays (Ref 53400).
在中型而比较大的标本中拥有一条深色的, 细长垂直的肱骨横带或者那有一个色素胞的扩散小区块那里在被调查的较小的个体的区域区别来自 Attonitus bounites 与 Attonitus ephimeros 的 Attonitus irisae. 背鳍有 2 不分枝的与 8个分枝的鳍条。 臀鳍有 3 不分枝的与 14-17, 最通常 15-16, 分支条 (参考文献 53400).
