Both lips papillated, lower lip with a median lobe, itself divided longitudinally; 6 branched anal rays; last simple dorsal ray not ossified, soft and segmented; a row of irregular dark blotches along side (Ref. 43281).
Adults inhabit streams and rivers with moderate to swift current, over gravel to stone substrate (Ref. 43281).
