Distinguished from Barilius infrafasciatus and Barilius bendelisis by the presence of a black round spot at the caudal base, by the black dorsal rays and transparent dorsal membranes, by the posterior position of dorsal origin being midway between upper angle of gill aperture and caudal base or slightly nearer to the latter (Ref. 39388).
