Dorsale stekels (totaal) : 4; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 8; Anale stekels: 3; Anale zachte stralen: 5. Mouth opening transverse, almost straight. Postdorsal distance usually larger than the predorsal: 100-108% of this. Edge of dorsal fin almost straight. Sides with brownish spots irregularly arranged in the upper half of the body.
