Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 5.5 cm SL macho/indeterminado; (Ref. 44894)
Inhabits slow-flowing, clear waters of small creeks and streams; usually in the shallows or at the surface, often among aquatic vegetation (Ref. 44894). Found in rivers (Ref. 26703). Solitary or in small aggregations of 10-15 fish. Spawning possibly occurs in late to mid summer as indicated by the capture of sub-adults in September. The upper Hunter river (New South Wales) has yielded specimens of a similar hardyhead which are tentatively identified as C. amniculus but could prove to be a separate undescribed species. Formerly mis-identified as C. eyresii (Ref. 44894).
