Etymology: Enteromius: Greek, enteron = intestine + Greek, myo, mys = muscle (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: R Raimbault was Inspector, Eaux et Forêts (Waters and Forests), in French West Africa. He was honoured for his role in assisting Daget’s missions in Guinea, but we can shed no further light on him. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.

Africa: known from the type locality (a tributary of the Bafing River, Senegal River system) (Ref. 2801, 2940, 81282). Also known from the Niandan of the upper Niger in Guinea (Ref. 2940, 81282).

Duri punggung (Keseluruhan (total)) : 0; duri punggung lunak (Keseluruhan (total)) : 12; Duri dubur: 0; Sirip dubur lunak: 8. Diagnosis: last simple dorsal-fin ray not ossified and smooth on hind margin; scale formula 3.5/20-24/3.5; 2-2.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic-fin base; 8-10 scales around caudal peduncle; lateral-line scales slightly larger than other scales on sides; 8 branched dorsal fin rays; two pairs of short barbels; anterior barbel not reaching to anterior margin of eye; posterior barbel not extending beyond centre of eye; lateral line complete and more or less horizontal; maximum reported size 61 mm SL; no black spot on dorsal fin; no bands on sides; tip of dorsal fin black; cephalic lines of pores well visible (Ref. 2940, 81282).
